This antique French Art Nouveau solid brass double inkwell and pen rest by sculptor "A. Bossu" is quite a statement piece. I found this double inkwell at a tiny antique shop in the Peak District in England last fall. The sculpture is ornately detailed, with flower and Rococo-inspired shell motifs covering the base. The rearing horse features a beautifully sculpted mane and tail that echo these scrolling organic motifs.

Amazingly, both original porcelain inkwells with detailed brass covers are present and in excellent condition.

The piece is signed "A. Bossu" on the base (see photos).

Dimensions:

  • Approx. 9" tall x 12" long x 7.5" wide

Condition:

In excellent condition overall. Both original porcelain inkwells are present and free of cracks and chips.

This is an antique item and therefore is naturally in "used" condition. Please view all photos before purchasing.
