This charming pair of prancing English Victorian era brass mantle horses can be used purely as decoration (atop a mantle, desk, bureau or shelf, or in front of a fireplace) or could be used as doorstops or bookends.
Hoping to find even a single mantle horse while on our England trip, I was thrilled to find a PAIR of these brass horses at an antique shop in the Peak District. This particular shop was packed – literally to the ceiling – with everything from antique furniture, to porcelain, to art, to clocks... I almost missed this pair of horses hidden beneath a table, and I am so glad that I spotted them.
Dimensions:
-
Each approx. 6.25" tall x 9.5" long x 2.5" wide
Condition:
In very good condition overall. Please view all photos. The right-facing horse/base is slightly bent and not aligned perfectly parallel with the left-facing horse. Both horses are a bit loose on their bases (they are attached with brass bolts on the underside that may be able to be tightened).
These are antique items and therefore are naturally in "used" condition. Please view all photos before purchasing.
