The Countryside Seasons illustrations featured on these correspondence cards are filled with detail – each one took about a month to draw. Every scene is set in the same stretch of picturesque rolling hills, with the shift into each new season shown through the changing flora and fauna (though the horse is always there, of course!).

In Summer, roses, lavender and foxglove are in full bloom. The horse grazes under the shade of a tree, while fallow deer doze in the far field. Also to be spotted: butterflies, a bee, birds and a curious stoat.

Each card is foil-stamped by hand in gold on cream 111lb card stock with an eggshell matte finish that provides a lovely writing surface.

Accompanying thick, sky blue envelopes feature muted moss green liners.

All card designs start as pencil drawings that are later refined and transformed into beautiful copper printing plates. Cards are foil stamped by hand in the studio in small batches. All foil stamping is done on a table-top hot foil stamping machine crafted in England by Metallic Elephant.
