A rare mid-19th century hand-colored lithograph by Carel Christiaan Anthony Last (1808–1876), a Dutch painter, draughtsman, and lithographer, printed by the Hague bookselling firm K. Fuhri. This lithograph is based on a 17th century oil painting by Dutch artist Philips Wouwerman, titled “The Departure from the Stable.” This busy stable scene is packed with detail from elegantly dressed riders ready to depart, to playing children, to a goat, a dog and several chickens.

I purchased this lithograph in a small antique shop last fall while in the Peak District of England. It is freshly matted and framed in a restored vintage frame.

Dimensions:

  • Artwork approximately 7.25" tall by 9.25" wide
  • Frame Overall: 12.75" tall by 14.5" wide

Condition:

Lithograph is in excellent condition with slight darkening of the paper in areas due to age (at edges).

The lithograph has been carefully framed in a lovely repurposed and restored vintage frame. Each framing element is archival: from the museum grade mat and backing board, to the traditional mulberry paper mounting hinges, to the dust cover on the back of the frame.

This is an antique item and therefore is naturally in "used" condition. Please view all photos before purchasing.
