In addition to the famous Staffordshire mantle dogs, Staffordshire potteries in England made many English folk art style figural ceramics, often featuring pastoral scenes. This sweet boy and and his cow date to the Victorian Era and were most likely made sometime between 1835-1875.
The tiny hand-painted floral pattern on the boy's waistcoat, delicate brushwork on the cow and overall vibrant colors add to the charm of this this 19th century Staffordshire piece.
